Gowi donated Librarian software to 5 elementary schools in Serbia

Gowi has initiated a donation project in cooperation with the People’s office of the president of the Republic of Serbia. The main goal of the project is to improve the work of School Libraries and help them to have more efficient processes and to motivate the pupils to interact with Libraries in new and innovative ways.

  Danijela Stojadinovic, Managing Director at GOWI said: “As knowledge based company we understand the importance of accessibility of information and efficient knowledge sharing so our motive to initiate this project is to share our experience and to support  and empower the School Libraries to become more flexible place for learning where project work, individual study, group research, reading and the teaching of ICT can all take place.

The donation project has started with the visit to one of the chosen elementary  schools Stevan Sindjelic in Belgrade. The aim of this visit was for representatives of Gowi company to understand the main issues the school has with their school library and the areas they would like to improve as well as to present how the On line Librarian software will cover these areas.

GOWI Librarian software is built in such way to support and give  on line  access to a broad range of information sources as well as to motive pupils to add their comments about the books they have read or to give the recommendation for new books . This way school library can stimulate learning and motivate pupils to be more proactive and creative as they can freely pursue the subjects which engage them.

The Librarian is a very useful innovation for our school, and I'm sure that it is going to be a great benefit to both professors and students “said the headmaster of school Stevan Sindjelic  mrs. Nadezda Vukmirovic.

Marketing manager at Gowi Mrs. Ivana Karalejic said that the main goal of this donation was that pupils  get the opportunity to benefit from the software solutions and use the application on daily bases.

"We want software to have positive influence on pupils and to be regarded as an innovating tool for teachers. A decade of international experience confirms that innovation is the basis for further progress, and we want this for our kids "said Ivana Karalejic, after visiting the elementary school Stevan Sindjelic.
