Senior Front-end Developer
Gowi, a company with high experience on UK market, is looking to hire a Front-end
Developer. This position requires a senior Front-end Developer with at least 5 years
experience in HTML, CSS and Javascript (7+ years of total experience is preferred).
Candidate profile
Gowi is looking for a person that will be an integral part of the web development
process. You need to be creative, a team player and need to be punctual in your
estimate and your work. You need to be able to face a challenging work environment,
handle stress and meet strict deadlines. You need to join in a team that will lean
on your experience, your suggestions and your knowledge. You must have:
- Expert HTML, XHTML and CSS (version 2 and 3) skills
- Expert Javascript skills
- Expert jQuery, JSON and Mootools skills
- Expert skills in writing reusable HTML and CSS code as well as creating light images
for download
- Expert skills in browser testing
- Good knowledge of Microsoft technologies as ASP and ASP.NET
- Writing clean, well commented code
- Computer Science related degree (preferred)
- Fluently speaking / writing English language
Key responsibilities
- Participating in project development, giving suggestions on how to improve projects
with Javascript and CSS
- Creating HTML/XHTML working templates
- Creating JSON, jQuery or Mootools driven javascripts for AJAX behaviour in working
templates
- Browser test the working templates in various browsers / OSs
- Makes sure the working templates are W3C and WAI compilant according to standards
- Gives further HTML, CSS and javascript assistence to developers when the project
is in development (passes the "template creation" phase)
- Makes sure the finaly produced pages are W3C/WAI compilant according to standards
Professional skills
Required:
- Adobe Photoshop, Fireworks and Dreamweaver (CS2, CS3)
- HTML and XHTML language (1.0, 1.1, Transitional and Strict)
- CSS2, CSS3
- Javascript, jQuery, JSON, Mootools knowledge
- Experience with Web 2.0 technology and solutions
- Firefox (2 and 3), Internet Explorer (6 and 7), Safari testing knowledge and solutions
for them CSS/HTML valid hacks
Appreciated:
- Adobe Flash (CS3)
- sIFR technology knowledge
- Knowledge of Thickbox and Lightbox technology and their clones
- .NET Framework
- MS Visual Studio 2003/2005/2008, MS Visual Sourse Safe
- General knowledge of Visual Studio HTML elements, and what they render to
- Agile, RUP
